π Location Data β Collection, Access and Use
ALS Driver accesses and collects your device location. This includes precise location (GPS latitude and longitude, speed, heading, and accuracy) and, when permitted on your device, background location while the app is not in the foreground.

- Location is not collected before you start a shift or after you end your shift.
- Location data is transmitted securely to our servers at airportlinkservices.tech.
- Location is not sold and is not used for advertising.
- Only authorised dispatch and management staff can view driver location for operational purposes.
- You may deny or revoke location permission in device settings, but starting a shift and core dispatch features will not work without location access.
π’ 1. Who We Are
Airport Link Services Ltd is a logistics and transportation company. The ALS Driver app is an internal business tool provided exclusively to our employed and contracted drivers to manage job assignments, deliveries, and real-time communication with dispatch.
This app is not open to the general public. Access requires login credentials provided by Airport Link Services Ltd.

We collect only the information necessary to operate the app and manage driver operations:

π 3. Device Permissions Required
The app requests the following permissions from your device:
βοΈ 4. How We Use Your Information
- To assign and manage delivery jobs in real time.
- To access, collect, and transmit driver location during active shifts for operational dispatch and fleet safety.
- To record proof-of-delivery and pickup evidence as required by customers.
- To send push notifications about new job assignments and status changes.
- To generate operational reports for fleet management.
- To comply with legal obligations (e.g. tachograph records, working time regulations).
- To investigate complaints or disputes related to deliveries.
π‘ 5. Location Data & Background Tracking
Location tracking is a core feature of ALS Driver and is used exclusively for operational fleet management during driver shifts. Specifically:
- Access: The app accesses precise device location through GPS while you have an active shift.
- Collection: Location points (coordinates, speed, accuracy) are collected and sent to our servers approximately every 60 seconds or 100 metres during a shift.
- Background use: If you grant background location permission, collection continues when the app is not visible β only until you tap End Shift.
- Storage: Location history is stored on our secure servers for up to 7 years for compliance and operational records.
- Sharing: Location may be viewed by authorised dispatch staff and linked to your assigned vehicle for live fleet monitoring. It is not shared with customers or used for marketing.
- Control: You can revoke location permission in Android or iOS settings at any time, but you will not be able to start a shift without granting location access.

- Job records & location history: Retained for 7 years for legal/compliance purposes.
- Proof-of-delivery photos: Retained for 2 years, then permanently deleted.
- Account data: Retained for the duration of your employment, then deleted within 90 days of leaving.
- Push notification tokens: Updated on each login; old tokens are removed automatically.

We take the security of your data seriously and implement:
- HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit between the app and our servers.
- Encrypted storage on our cloud providers (Backblaze B2).
- Token-based authentication (Laravel Passport / OAuth2) β no passwords stored on device.
- Role-based access controls β only authorised personnel can view your data.
- Regular security reviews and system audits.

As a data subject, you have the following rights under UK GDPR:
- Right of Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

The ALS Driver app is intended for use by adults (18 years and over) in a professional employment context. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has been given access to the app, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users through the app or by email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
